Following the devestating events of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, GCOM has been taking regular disaster relief mission trips. The members of these teams vary in background and focus on medical care, food distribution and meeting the overall needs of the Haitian people who were left homeless following the earthquake. Please consider joining us on one of these disaster relief mission trips. We understand that financing a trip can be costly, for that reason we offer a variety of ideas to help you with funding your trip.

What to expect?
After reading through our website we hope you have come to realize the great need there is for you to come and serve in Haiti, it is a country of great poverty, you are sure to leave your mark on the lives of many through your service. However we are sure this trip will also have a lasting impact upon you... When you travel with our team please be prepared to serve others, don't consider this as a tropical vacation, but as your opportunity to make a difference through service, that will undoubtly require manual labor. We have many different projects in Haiti and the particular project and work you will be doing will depend upon the time of your trip, please contact us for more information regarding the trip you are wishing to attend.

Our trip will include a brief orientation in Miami before departure to Haiti, it will be a time to get to know your fellow team mates as well as your team leader and be advised of the current situation in Haiti and what to expect when going through customs upon arrival in Haiti as well as an introduction to the particular projects you will be working on while in Haiti.

Most of your trip will be taken up by service days where you will work with locals as well as our in country staff on a variety of projects. We will provide you with one fun day, a day of sightseeing, souvenier shopping and possibly a trip to the beach.

Costs:

$950 US per person, this includes food, housing, training, supplies, and transportation while in Haiti. You are responsible for the cost and purchase of your own travel to and from Haiti (airfare). We will provide you with the flight number of the flights to and from Haiti.
